Frequency Information

Good news for homeowners with a Wayne-Dalton garage door opener!

In August, 2003, Wayne-Dalton transitioned their entire product line to operate at 372 MHz. A home entry system operating at 372 MHz translates into less interference from outside sources, superior reliability, response time, and longer range of operation.

Previous use of 303 MHz was proving to be increasingly susceptible to interference from locally broadcast television and radio stations resulting in slower garage door opener response times even at close range.

In addition, by engineering components to one frequency only, Wayne-Dalton was able to increase performance without raising consumer costs.

To determine the model of your garage door opener:
Look for the silver sticker on the back or bottom of the opener motor.

To determine the frequency of your opener:
Z-Wave enabled openers have a gray antenna.

372MHz openers have a yellow antenna. All DoorMaster, idrive, and prodrive openers are 372 MHz. Newer Classicdrive and Quantum openers are also 372 MHz.

303 MHz openers are indicated with any other antenna color including black, white, or green. Older model Classicdrive and Quantum openers are 303 MHz.

What to do if your current Wayne-Dalton garage door opener operates at 303 MHz:
Although Wayne-Dalton no longer manufactures openers at this frequency, they still carry replacement accessories.

To take full advantage of the exciting range of 372 MHz accessories offered by Wayne-Dalton, we recommend upgrading your current system with a Universal Circuit Board.
